SPA - St. Petersburg Aquatics

Florida Swimming's Long Course Junior Olympic Championships have concluded. The four day meet brought over 900 swimmers, 14 and under, from across the state to the YMCA Aquatic Center in Orlando. Swimming for Saint Petersburg Aquatics were Kimberly Brown, Amanda Burrows, Charity Chen, Etnike Dovolani, Summer Finke, Jessica Green, MacKenzie Hubbard, Hristina Krasteva, Lindsey Leadbetter, Macy Marshburn, Jenna McQueen, Caroline Neely, Alexandra Walker, Joshua Chen, Bexhet Dovolani, John Farese, Robert Finke, Alexander Grant, Gordon Leadbetter, Mark Marshburn and Cody Nipper.

As a team, SPA’s girls finished 5^th out of 41 teams while the boys were 11^th out of 42 teams. Combined, SPA finished 9^th out of 45 teams total. Individually, SPA swimmers set several best times in addition to many top 16 finishes. Summer Finke won the 13/14 Girls High Point award and set 2 new Junior Olympic records in the 800 and 1500 Freestyle events. Her times in the 800 and 1500 Freestyles were also qualifying times for the Conoco-Phillips U.S. National Championships in Irvine, California August 3^rd to 7^th. Her times in the 200 Free, 400 Free and 400 IM met the bonus time standards for the national championships as well as meeting the Junior National qualifying times. Robert Finke won the Boys 10&Under High Point award. Macy Marshburn was second in the 11/12 Girls High Point rankings. Macy will be competing as a member of the Florida Swimming Zone Team in Atlanta, Georgia July 27^th to 31^st.

For 10&Under Girls, Charity Chen was 10^th in the 50 Back, 14^th in the 100 Back, and 15^th in the 100 Fly; Lindsey Leadbetter was 5^th in 50 Free, 6^th in 100 Free, 5^th in 200 Free, 5^th in 50 Back, 5^th in the 100 Back, and 7^th in 50 Butterfly; Alexandra Walker took 8^th in the 50 Back.

In 11/12 Girls, Amanda Burrows was 11^th in the 800 Free; Macy Marshburn was 3^rd in 400 Free, 5^th in the 50 Back, 2^nd in the 100 Back, 1^st in the 50 Breast, 1^st in the 100 Breast, and 2^nd in the 200 IM; Jenna McQueen was 14^th in the 100 Fly.

For 13/14 Girls, Etnike Dovolani was 16^th in the 100 Fly; Summer Finke was 1^st in the 200 Free, 1^st in the 400 Free, 1^st in the 800 Free, 1^st in the 1500 Free, 3^rd in the 200 Back, and 1^st in the 400 IM; MacKenzie Hubbard was 11^th in the 100 Back and 11^th in the 200 Back; Hristina Krasteva was 15^th in the 100 Back and 16^th in the 200 Back; Caroline Neely was 13^th in the 200 Free, 14^th in the 400 Free, 9^th in the 800 Free, and 12^th in the 200 Back.

On the boys side for 10&Under Boys Robert Finke took 1^st in the 100 Free, 1^st in the 200 Free, 1^st in the 400 Free, 1^st in the 100 Back, 2^nd in the 100 Fly, and 1^st in the 200 IM.

In 13/14 Boys Joshua Chen was 10^th in the 100 Breast and 13^th in the 200 Breast; John Farese was 11^th in the 50 Free, 8^th in the 100 Free, 6^th in the 200 Free, 15^th in the 400 Free, 4^th in the 100 Back, and 5^th in the 200 Back.
